Wasp (Dolichovespula)

Wasps are colonial insects and can be regarded as beneficial insects. Each colony is established and developed during the spring and early summer where the workers collect insect larvae, scraps of meat and even fish to feed to larvae. Significance

In general, wasps are regarded as nuisance pests or a threat to health. Many thousand individuals are often to be found associated with each nest and can cause alarm when present in significant numbers.
