Feral Pigeons are descendants of the Rock Dove so they are quite at home living in an urban environment. Pigeons tend to scavenge food, often in substantial numbers where a good food supply is readily available.

Significance

They are capable of breeding all year round if the conditions are right. They are known carriers of diseases, which can be transferred mechanically to humans, such as salmonella and psittacosis.
